You sort of stuck for life once you are on board with Karen Walker.
That’s just me, and a world of weird people who love her quirkiness. She has this air in the way she interprets things around her and translate these funny ideas into super functional clothes. I see this in every piece of Karen Walker I owned.
SS16 is about the fun 80s but in her own style. Apparently triggered by an abandoned military site photo in Moscow. I’m attracted to the fun (what’s new), a ‘work clothes’ collection as I put it – the shiny grey and gold pieces are for astronauts-alike, the skirts and scarves are for your secret agents (think Agent Carter) and the denim are for labourers. Totally appropriate in the Moscow facility. (Aha!)
Denim is one of my favourites of Karen Walker – she makes them crazily fun but not trashy, this season’s acid wash and signature dark blue pieces are proven to be any wardrobe’s must-have. She is having denim meals for this season, and man, THAT overall with zipper details. SO IN LOVE!
