With a brand named ‘Creatures of Comfort’, Jane Lai has never been far from creating comforting fashion. Her FW15 collection nailed it all into class and comfort.
It is a difficult task to balance the colour palette for Fall Winter collection, but Creatures of Comfort clearly had a strong mind: jamming of the strong. The rich burgundy-brown that appeared on tops and pants totally took my breath away. I’m so obsessed with the way she paired them with the equally intense royal blue. The blue-white squares and grey-tone are equally charming, and the black sealed it for any year-end season.
As the colour palette sends out strong vibes, the styles and cutting are on a relaxing mood instead – straight-leg pants, loose-cut coats, no-fuss wrap dresses and all the sweaters you will want to pack for a vacation. It’s all about the balance, and the theme of ‘Getaway’. Too many good examples: the long white shirt dress (nothing fancy but oh-so essential), the midi navy sweater, the long jackets, the jumpsuits, the straight pants, the pin-stripe separates and the vests. Not forgetting the low-key but yummy looking knit dresses. Like real comforters on the go (only it looks way better!). Creatures of Comfort doesn’t make things just for charm, they make fashion you can rely on.
If you seek the Normcore style but think The Row is too far fetch, it’s time you turn to Creatures of Comfort.
PS: the dual-tone slip-on are beautiful, so is our fellow Malaysia model Gwen Lu.
