Denim. Denim. Denim.
Well, that’s not the only thing in the MM6 SS15 story, but it is the most significant element in the collection. It is the ‘string’ that joined up mono black and white, with satin, lace, cotton, suede and all that the Margiela team can think of.
I watched the video a week before my shooting for a denim theme styling show. I could not be more thankful for the inspiration. It is such an authentic way of mixing the fabric in every aspect – the classic American denim as part of daily head-to-toe. It is true – denim is the most individualistic item in your wardrobe. It is highly mouldable and full of life, yet, it does not take away the limelight from others. I find denim plays with everyone. It is strong, yet friendly and quiet.

Sometimes I wish people stop trying to look polished in denim. I’m not saying it cannot be, but personally, I think denim is most beautiful when it is treated raw. Loose, washed, easy-going and able to fit into any situation at ease.
Love the way Margiela team did it!
