While I’m still thinking about Prabal Gurung’s awesome FW14 collection, the equally (if not more) powerful SS15 show has already taken place two weeks back in New York Fashion Week.
Started of light and easy, the mountains and clouds are nicely paired with the asymmetrical cuts. The cut-in at the shoulder and low slung skirts were perfect in accentuate a woman’s figure. The navy panels and belts were all placed at the right angle, along with the bare faces and right accessories to power up the collection.
Then came the beautiful pullover sweaters (oh my favourite), and the rest is history. Prabal Gurung still talks about his home country in this collection. He talks about white snow, Mount Everest, eagles and blue sky back at Nepal, where the view is clear and not blocked by skyscrapers. He turned his love and thoughts for Nepal into something tangible with prints, knits and ever flowing shapes. Talks about immortalizing your love. (First you must have talent)
On the other hand, those beautiful girly dresses had everything going on yet they never look over. The knee-taped pants with zippers looked amazing. This is a collection for modern and sophisticated women, the way Prabal Gurung likes it.
