Sleek, is the best way to describe the FW14 collection of Helmut Lang, or, to be more accurate, to describe the spirit of brand Helmut Lang.
Mr. Lang started the brand as a made-to-measure, it is no surprises he has been following his calling and being one of the best master of tailoring in the industry until 2005. Though nothing like hailing the brand by the master himself, Nicole and Michael Colovos has done a great job over the years, to be fair.
Be it body-fitting or loose bubble sweaters, Helmut Lang always able to make them look impeccable. They start, connect and end at the exact point where it needs it to be, without restricting your ability to enjoy them. The pieces created has never been stiff, they are not meant to overpower the women. Instead, Helmut Lang’s sharp tailoring always enhance the greatest assets of a woman: multi-tasking abilities.
And sharp tailoring does not mean it can only be applied on suits, or hardcore looking business workwear: the knits, dresses and leather pieces are all very thought after. Without much complication, each piece can stand alone or be your layering partners. These will definitely be sought after by the celebrities and loyal customers soon.
My personal favourite would be the off white series here:
The red pieces are equally stunning, further enhancing the technique used on creating the loose volume effect. And surprisingly they look extremely comfortable too!
As always, Nicole and Michael Colovos created super sleek accessories and footwear for the collection, something the Helmut Lang fans always find hard to resist. However, this would be the last season of the duo, as they have officially moved on from the label in February 2014, after the show.
