Finally, we arrived at Paris Fashion Week, FW14.
I first discovered about Yang Li through LNCC, the progressive retailer in London about a year ago. I have been following his collection ever since. Effortless chic and masculine presentation has always been his signature.
But this season, the ladies has gone for a different look.

Yang Li the label may not be a big name in Asia, but the designer himself is a rising star with strong following in Europe. Born Chinese, raised in Perth and now based in Paris, he has a world full of influences in his creation. Barely touching the age of 30, his collection has influential stockists around Europe. He once said his collection is for strong women, who can carry themselves through waves. True enough, the past collections has seen he crafted in that direction.
FW14 is more polished as compared to the earlier seasons, where you see loose fit silhouette with strong outline, combined with super light or extremely heavy fabrics, they created a surreal feeling.

But this FW14 collection is different. Still with his signature volume skirts (something I have always like – not easy to make it right!) and leather pieces, the ladies in FW14 now put on fur bras and shinny materials in their dressing. Jackets and dresses enhances feminine silhouette, even the cowboy hats feel softer. Seductive and mysterious, the ladies seduce you not with bare skin, instead with silhouette.
Yang Li presented a clean FW14 collection, announcing his ladies are traveling from the nomad season to the Upper East side of the town. We will see if the ladies miss their carefree shirts and loose cut coats, as much as I miss it. For Yang Li’s loose cut shirts and strong coats carried us through stormy days.
