Fashion Story: The Perfect China Export

Apparent when Peng LiYuan (彭丽媛)became the First Lady of China, the Chinese media celebrated the end of a long jinxed era, and welcome Peng with open arms. Chinese media praised her for “finally able to show the world there is a pretty and presentable First Lady from China”. Not sure how far it is true, but seems like Peng definitely had a good start.

What sets her off from her predecessor, is the fact Peng was more well-known than her husband before he became the President. She was a well-respected contemporary folk singer and performing artist in China with a career of over 20 years, performing at all provinces and showing up in national shows in China while her husband works his way up.

She carriers herself well in all her clean-cut two-piece suits and dresses, pairing them with the matching lady-like accessories and heels. Personal favourites would be those little details added on her collars and hemlines, bringing lots of fun and brighten up when she smiles.
