(Matsuura Yataro)

Lesson 101
Lesson 101

Lesson 101
Lesson 101

New Money Methods> By Matsuura Yataro

I think this is such a brilliant (and fun) read, and I must be lucky to have read it at the start of 2014.

Matssura Yataro has written couple of books, but this is the first I’ve read of his work. He has a very fun way to look at money differently.

Lesson 101 – treat your money the way you like to be treated. Don’t let it stays in a dirty, crappy wallet. Don’t fold your money and don’t leave it everywhere. Don’t neglect items you have bought with money – shows respect to the money you’ve earned and spent by taking good care of your belongings, the items you have exchanged with money.

This book is such an interesting read, as compared to the American way of teaching readers on money methods, Yataro’s way is leaning towards a totally oposite direction: there is no big arguments, no complicated methods and no stressful Do-or-Die. Instead, it is about living with the right attitude, how to treat money the right way, changing small habits, be honest and be kind to society.

Sounds cliche? I’m sure. Some people may not buy Yataro’s ideas, but I do. I think what general readers need is something less bombastic and complicated, something less stressful. We have been taught techniques and shortcuts, but not on how should we deal with money on a personal emotional basis. (ie respect, right attitude and sharing) Yataro believes the right attitude and is the key to free us from having more money problems in the future, because having more money does not solve your problem if you do not know its worth.

I think it is true. Why? In 2013, I’ve seen changes on my personal financial issues when I switched my attitude towards life, (though it is all done before I read Yataro’s book) that switch and its result has come to full circle and its true meaning when I found the same answer in his book. It strengthen my belief on the general money matter: how we are often slave for money, just to satisfy the view of others upon us in the society.

Till then, take care.
